Lets start with the first book :
The book was great incredibly screwed up but very detailed. I fell in love with a couple of characters wanting to smack the crap out of others. It was great. I felt like I was there in the book watching it all unfold. I got to the end and was disappointed. I wanted to see the reunion of Katniss and Peeta with their families. It sort of just dropped off. So I picked up the 2nd book thinking it would be in there. But Sadly it is not.
My favorite parts were where Rue Dies. It was beautiful Made me cry. Made me angry that she was killed. I knew it was gonna happen but wished that it wasn't true. They all were sent into that arena to die. Only one Victor was allowed.
My other favorite parts were between Katniss and Peeta. I know that she was acting on her part but sometimes it felt real. Like you could feel the sparking between them. The nights in the cave while she was nursing him back to health. The end when they were both going to commit suicide so there would be no winners because they couldn't kill each other... was fantastic!!!!!
The second book:
This book. Made me all sorts of pissed off. I hated that they had to go back into the arena. I hated the Love triangle between Peeta, Katniss and Gale. Even though this book pissed me off. It was great. I love books that provoke real emotions out of the reader.
Onto the 3rd book :
The 3rd book covers the rebellion that was sparked in the first book. It shares a lot of detail that didn't make sense at the time in the first two books. Like it explains the chain of events that lead them to where they were. Peeta has been kidnapped by the Capitol. Katniss is the face of the Rebellion. Pretty much under the control of President Coin (The president of District 13, the one that supposedly was destroyed in the Dark Days). Gale is a D13 soldier. Everything is so screwed up. When they finally get Peeta back he was pretty much brainwashed to kill Katniss. Of course this hurts Katniss more than she lets on. Blah blah blah. I liked this book but it should have been longer. I felt they left some important stuff out.It left me still asking questions. It was almost as if the Author just rushed right through it at the end.The last 100 pages felt
rushed .
My favorite book out of the trilogy was the second book. Rating the whole trilogy 8 out of 10. Ten being Best. The rushing in the third book really killed it for me. I still want to watch the movie though. Good news if you hadn't heard but they will be making all 3 books into movies.
